I, Dr. Kohn, will give this diet to anyone who will take it from me. You won't like it. It's not what you're used to. There is no support for it in the community. It won't be easy. It will take a lot of effort to figure out what it means, and how to do it. All that being said, this is the diet to live healthy for the next 100-1,000 years. So, start where you are, learn more about it, and do the best you can. This is a lifestyle, as opposed to the deathstyle we have all been taught so far. This diet should not be used by people taking WARFARIN (COUMADIN), and it may cause problems in people with GOUT.
Dr. Kohn's Diabetes Emergency Diet: The Basis of a Healthy Diet RAW – VEGAN – ALKALINE – NO FAT – CALORIE RESTRICTED – DIET
(Put these terms in a search engine and learn what this diet means, it is not intuitive.)
This is NOT a standard medical diet. Most doctors, nutritionists, and dieticians do not know much about it. Standard medical dogma states that there is no cure for diabetes, and that it will continue to get worse until insulin is needed and complications will ultimately lead to death.
Alternative medical systems have found this diet to be, “ANTI-AGING”, “ANTI-CANCER”, and it may, “CURE DIABETES”, and, “REVERSE HARDENING of the ARTERIES” before the next heart attack or stroke. While there is insufficient data to prove these claims, the possibilities of this diet warrant ongoing evaluation in my opinion.
EXAMPLES of FOODS THAT MAY BE EATEN IN MASSIVE QUANTITIES ALL DAY LONG that, generally, will not elevate blood sugars, will improve bowel movements, and will promote weight loss:ARUGULA, BOK CHOI, CABBAGE, CELERY, CHARD, COLLARD GREENS, CUCUMBER, DANDELION, ENDIVE, GARLIC, KALE, LETTUCE, ONIONS, PEPPERS, SPROUTS, SEAWEEDS, SPINACH, TOMATOES, WATERCRESS.
Almost all other foods have more calories and may not be useful for diabetes out of control. Diabetics must exercise caution with fruits and should AVOID ALL SUGARS. (No-calorie sweeteners may be used, but long term consequences are unknown.) Diabetics using medications (like insulin & sulfonylureas) which can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) must use caution because this diet may cause significant low blood sugars requiring either increased calorie intake or change of medications.
People with Hypertension should AVOID SALT. A low salt, 2 gram = 2000 mg Na (sodium) diet means no added salt to food or cooking, and avoiding foods known to be high in salt (such as salted peanuts, chips, or pretzels, and many prepared/packaged foods).
